Is it really possible magkaroon ng solusyon sa depresyon? Depression is one of the most common mental health problems worldwide. Approximately three million Filipinos suffer from it. According to experts, maraming pinagmumulan ang depression. It may be genetics o namamana; brain chemistry imbalance; physical health problems; stressful life events; vices like alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling, etc.; or intense grief.

There is also professional and medical help.

Sleep o pagtulog ng minimum of eight hours a day.

Nakakatulong ito hindi lang physically and mentally, but also emotionally. With enough sleep, we can manage our emotions better.

Exercise.

Even 30 minutes of walking is enough to stimulate your body to release endorphins (hormones that reduce pain and trigger positive feelings).

Eat the right food.

Read and Write.

Love letters, especially. Reading and writing can help you express your emotions more clearly. Reading gives our mind a sense of order and opens up a way of thinking. Write to your loved ones para magkaroon ng peace of mind.

And, above all, forgive your enemies and let go of your spiritual grudges. In the spiritual realm or aspect, we can learn a few things from Jesus' own experiences as well as from the teachings' of the Bible. In Matthew 26:37 ("And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled.") the passage teaches us that we should choose close friends with genuine concern na hindi tayo matatakot pagkatiwalaan ang mga nararamdaman natin.

Friends who will pray with us and stand with us through our hardships at nakakaunawa na lahat ng pinagdadaanan natin ay temporary lang at lilipas din.

Pour your heart out to the Lord because it's one way to lessen your burden. Sabi nga ni God, "I carry your burden; I will carry it for you." Finally, we should rest in the fact that our Father in heaven holds our future.

Remember that "Greater is HE who is in you than he who is in the world." (1 John 4:4). May God bless you, brothers and sisters, as you continue on with life." [K]
